Inside Scentiment Floristry

Origins

We began with a search for the right home and it was number 138 that stole our hearts. 138 offered the light, flow and character I needed to bring Scentiment to life. From the moment I stepped inside I could imagine an open, working studio behind an inviting shopfront — a place where customers could browse, breathe in the scents and watch floristry in action.

The Space and Ethos

The shop was planned with hospitality and discovery in mind: a welcoming front-of-house filled with seasonal bouquets and visual delights, and an open studio towards the back where arrangements are hand-crafted.

From day one, sustainability and thoughtful design guided every choice. The interior created with repurposed scaffold boards for shelving along with the bespoke counter/work space and wonderful secondhand butler sink. I sourced preloved furniture and display items including the incredible Apothecary style unit that houses the dried flowers and of course the beautiful dining table almost identical to one I remember my Nannie having in her home years ago, that displays the vases of fresh flowers. The beautiful panel of stained glass that would have once, I imagine, been in the shop front when it was originally a family run pharmacy has been repurposed and given a new life in the shop counter.

I deliberately sought out small, local makers whose products would compliment Scentiment’s eco-conscious approach. From hand poured candles in Worthing, to beautifully illustrated cards in both Hove & Seaford, I try my absolute best to find you the treasures as close to home as possible. There is definitely lots to browse with a good range available to purchase online soon!
